Unlike other services which help companies hire full-time tech employees or freelancers, WhatBench makes it possible for project owners to tap into underutilized tech talent sitting on the bench at top IT consulting and services firms.
Coming in during their seed stage, I first revamped the WhatBench corporate identity, introducing a green checkmark element that I would later incorporate into the product’s interface design:
Tech services firms can display a WhatBench badge on their website to send customers to their WhatBench profile page:
In parallel with the logo design work, I redesigned the WhatBench website app from the ground up to simplify an existing workflow and site architecture. I rewrote content throughout to clarify the value proposition and built a comprehensive set of wireframes (about 45 screens in all) to illustrate product functionality for both sides of this new marketplace. I provided visual style specs to the website developers as a final step.
Search results screen showing available consultants across a variety of IT firms:
As a follow-on project, I worked with WhatBench to optimize the user experience of their Google Assistant app so hiring managers can search by voice when they need tech services firms to fill their project needs:
I feel fortunate to have met Kristen, who has so much design and business experience to offer. We have worked together on branding, user experience and numerous design iterations. She is one of the hardest working and most intelligent advisors I’ve had the pleasure of working with. She has an amazing capacity to take complex ideas and to turn them into great designs, with incredible attention to detail.”  Co-Founder, WhatBench
